Yoo Ah In Update: Actor Voluntarily Appears for Investigation Amid Drug Charges

For the first time since the scandal broke, Yoo Ah In publicly appeared at the Seoul Police Station after being summoned due to drug charges.

After months of making headlines, the award-winning star arrived to answer questions from the authorities regarding his involvement with illegal substance use.

Yoo Ah In Makes First Public Appearance Since Drug Investigation Began

According to a media outlet, Yoo Ah In voluntarily appeared at the police station on March 27 at 9:20 am.

Wearing a black suit and white inner top, the actor walked with his head down as he entered the vicinity.

Without answering any questions from the media, the actor entered the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit to stared the private summons investigation.

To recall, he is initially scheduled to appear on March 24 but the actor requested an adjustment, as mentioned by Infinity Law Firm, which is acting as legal counsel for Yoo Ah In.

Previously, various outlets mentioned that the authorities continue to gather evidence that would support claims regarding Yo Ah In's habitual use of illegal substances.

Following the National Institute of Scientific Investigation's (NFS) analysis where the actor tested positive for four types of drugs particularly cocaine, ketamine, propofol, and marijuana, the police conducted a search and seizure at the "Seoul Vibe" star's residence.

With this, police have confiscated two handphones and set to evaluate eight years' worth of conversations.

In addition, authorities also investigated the clinic at Gangnam, which Yoo Ah In often visits.

As a result, the doctor, who happens to be the actor's acquaintance, was charged with illegally prescribing propofol.

The investigation later revealed that the said doctor was also charged was also charged for self-administering propofol himself and is still under investigation.

The drug issue has been a big blow in Yoo Ah In's career.

From brands removing his advertisement to stepping down from his return to "Hellbound 2" and being replaced by Kim Sung Cheol, one celebrity friend is reportedly helping the award-winning star overcome his difficulties.

According to a news portal, Song Hye Kyo is using her connections to help Yoo Ah In with legal advice and treatment as the actor reportedly struggling with mental health issues.

Besides this, "The Glory" star is giving her friend words of encouragement to get over the pressure from the public and media.

To recall, Yoo Ah In and Song Hye Kyo have a decade-long friends despite not starring in a project together.

The "Seoul Vibe" star often posts his support to the actress, flaunting their unique friendship.
