Taxi Driver Season 3 Release Date

SBS delivered surprising news after the broadcast network confirmed the release of "Taxi Driver" season 3.

Unlike the previous season, the announcement came after the action-crime K-drama aired its finale episode.

In addition, viewers also think that Lee Je Hoon's drama will return for a third installment after "Taxi Driver 2" episode 16 left with a cliffhanger.

'Taxi Driver' Season 3 Is 'In The Works'

As mentioned by media outlets, "Taxi Driver" season 3 gets the greenlight following the soaring ratings it received throughout the season's run.

On April 16, producers of the webtoon-based K-drama confirmed that the upcoming sequel is "already in the works."

'Taxi Driver' Season 3 Cast: Lee Je Hoon Hints At His Return as Kim Do Gi

Before the confirmation was released by SBS, Lee Je Hoon hinted at the possibility of having "Taxi Driver" for its third installment.

During the behind-the-scenes clips released by SBS Catch, he expressed his hopes for an upcoming sequel, and he teased the viewers by saying, "I'll learn golf before 'Taxi Driver 3.'"

Moreover, as he did in the golfing scenes featured in the second season, Lee Je Hoon promised to learn the sport before the network releases "Taxi Driver" season 3.

Why Does Taxi Driver' Deserve Season 3?

Based on the popular webtoon "The Deluxe Taxi," Lee Je Hoon's drama focuses on social issues like bullying, harassment, fraud, drugs, and more.

"Taxi Driver" depicts the story of a mysterious organization called Rainbow Taxi, which helps victims get revenge against the perpetrators who mistreated them.

The first season, which was released in April 2021, wowed viewers with its unique plot and amazing cast lineup. At the time, Cha Ji Yeon, who took on the role of businesswoman Baek Sung Min, plays the antagonist, while Esom, who played the role of prosecutor Kang Ha Na, hunts down Kim Do Gi, played by Lee Je Hoon.

Two years later, the action-crime series returned for a new season. However, Esom didn't reprise her role in "Taxi Driver 2" due to a conflicting schedule.

Meanwhile, as the Rainbow Taxi team returned with the same cast, the new antagonist was On Ha Joon (Shin Jae Ha).

Without a doubt, the SBS weekend drama delivered another round of amazing stories that kept viewers hooked on every episode.

In addition, "Taxi Driver 2" also showcased special cameos, which included Namgoong Min, Kim So Yeon, Park Ho San, and Moon Chae Won.
