Jeon Jong Seo Headlines New Historical Drama 'Queen Wu'

Two years after her television debut, Jeon Jong Seo is back in the game, much to fans' delight!

On April 18, the actress' agency, Andmarq, confirmed her participation in TVING's forthcoming historical series "Queen Wu."

Earlier this year, Jeon Jong Seo was offered the role of Queen Wu Hee, the first woman who became a queen twice in Korean history.

After a thorough deliberation, the actress finally accepted the work, marking her first ever historical series since she began her career.

Jeon Jong Seo is known for her gravity-defying action stunts and femme fatale aura which she has shown in her previous works like "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area," "Ransom" and "The Call."

In particular, the Hallyu star will not only give life to a queen but also a warrior. Queen Wu Hee will showcase her tactical skills as she comes up with strategies to protect her tribe against the opposing forces who want to take down the palace.

'Queen Wu' Further Details & What We Know So Far

"Queen Wu" is a historical action drama that aims to enrich the beauty and culture of Korea through multimedia.

It will be helmed by "Oh! My Gran" director Oh Jung Se and "The Royal Tailor" writer Lee Byung Hak. As for its cast, the production unit hasn't released the lineup just yet.

On the other hand, "Queen Wu" aims to begin its filming within the year with the intention to release the work in the first half of 2024.

Jeon Jong Seo Reunites With Kim Ji Hoon In 'Ballerina'

Following the success of their series "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area," Jeon Jong Seo and Kim Ji Hoon reunite in the new Netflix film "Ballerina"!

The two played the roles of Tokyo and Denver in the said work. In the forthcoming film, they will transform into star-crossed lovers who are sent off to kill one another.

"Ballerina" finished filming in the later part of 2022, thanks to the efforts of the cast and Lee Chung Hyun, the director and Jeon Jong Seo's real-life partner.
