'The Good Bad Mother' Episode 9: Glimpse To Choi Kang Ho's Life

"The Good Bad Mother" episode 9 begins with the young twins finding out that Choi Kang Ho's (Lee Do Hyun) ex-girlfriend Oh Ha Young (Hong Bi Ra) is getting married soon.

The villagers plan to keep it a secret from Jin Young Soon (Ra Mi Ran) but she appears at the right time, saying that people have the right to live their own lives.

At home, the mother and son figure out the password to the memory card where they find several files from Choi Kang Ho's old journals.

In the memory card, Choi Kang Ho takes viewers to the time when he attended law school which left a huge impact on his life.

When he realizes that no one is ready to help him, he decides to become a prosecutor just like his mother predicted.

On the other hand, Choi Kang Ho also mentions Lee Mi Joo (Ahn Eun Jin) in his journal entries.

Reason Behind Choi Kang Ho & Lee Mi Joo's Breakup

Choi Kang Ho describes Lee Mi Joo as a ray of sunshine that gives light and warmth amidst his dull and confusing life.

After becoming a prosecutor, he's finally able to reopen his father's case, and realizes that something is wrong with his death.

Choi Kang Ho questions the investigating officers who are all obviously in it. He is certain that Oh Tae Soo is behind his ordeal and not Song Woo Byeok (Choi Moo Sung).

He then breaks up with Lee Mi Joo to pursue Oh Tae Soo's daughter as a part of his plan to reopen his beloved old man's case.

The once vivacious man became a cunning prosecutor, framing people in order to get close to Song Woo Byeok and Oh Tae Soo.

Choi Kang Ho's Revenge

Choi Kang Ho also collected evidence against the two and eventually asks Song Woo Byeok to take him in as his own son, not knowing that he's the one who killed his biological father.

On the day of the car accident, Choi Kang Ho drives to their village along with Oh Ha Young in order to retrieve the memory card behind the photo frame to push through his journey.

To Turn Over New Leaf

Jin Young Soon, who's learned Choi Kang Ho's deep feelings and regrets, cries her heart out. She then takes her son's stuff to the farm and burns everything.

Thankfully, Choi Kang Ho is able to get his hands on his prosecutor badge. At the end of the episode, Jin Young Soon also throws away the memory card that holds key pieces in their lives.

Furthermore, Hwang Soo Hyun's (Ki Eun Se) corpse is seen floating in the water somewhere. She was last seen alive when Choi Kang Ho helped her escape from Oh Tae Soo's grasp.
