Months after enlisting in the military, Kang Tae Oh surprised fans with his first public appearance as a corporal.

Over the internet, the public is thrilled to see an update on the "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" star as he begins his military service,

In a post obtained by various outlets, the actor looks dignified wearing his uniform in celebration of the 68th Memorial Day ceremony.

Honoring the sacrifices the countrymen had to face to serve the republic, a special day is dedicated to commemorate their service.

Kang Tae Oh, who represents the Army, appeared at the podium and presented the story of the late Private Lee Hak Soo through the commemorative performance "The Memo Of A 21-Year-Old."

The actor was spotted wearing a badge that read "The Republic of Korea Army Assistance," while the other side showcased his position and his real name, Corporal Kim Yoon Hwan.

After reading the story, Kang Tae Oh performed a salute as he went down the podium.

Over social media, fans can't help but gush over the actor's look, far from his usual boy next door vibe. Some also expressed how proud they were to see Kang Tae Oh in a different light.

Others said they look forward to seeing him return to civilian life. 

 

To recall, during his fan meet, the actor officially announced that he would be enlisting for his mandatory military service on September 20, 2022.

A day before Kang Tae Oh's enlistment, he updated his Instagram with a special message for his fans, along with a photo of himself in buzz cut.

"Thank you for your support and excessive love. I'll have a good trip. See you soon," he wrote, where several fans wished him good luck and good health on his new journey.

As Kang Tae Oh began being an active duty soldier, he joined the 37th Division Recruit Training Center and was chosen as an assistant instructor at the boot camp. His main responsibility is training new recruits.

On the other hand, he is expected to finish his service in March 2024.

Kang Tae Oh's Career Highlights

Before swooning viewers with his charm, Kang Tae Oh made his debut as a member of group 5urprise, the first-ever actor group in South Korea that includes Yoo Il, Gong Myung, Seo Kang Joon, and Lee Tae Hwan.

He had his first K-drama in 2013 for "After School: Lucky or Not" and was followed by a supporting role in "Miss Korea," "Flower of the Queen," and eventually a lead role in "The Tale of Nokdu."

However, Kang Tae Oh gained soaring popularity in the hit series "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," along with Park Eun Bin and Kang Ki Young.

With this, viewers are looking forward to seeing if he will reprise his role in the upcoming "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" season 2.
