Is It True? Kang Mina to Sign With Seo In Guk's Agency

On June 15, a media outlet released a report announcing that Kang Mina will part ways with Jellyfish Entertainment and is in talks to sign with Story J Company.

Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed that the idol-actress' exclusive contract with them will come to an end by the end of June. They added that after several discussions, both parties agreed to not renew the contract.

Later on, rumors began to spread claiming that Kang Mina is joining Story J Company, which is the home agency of Seo In Guk, Oh Yeon Seo, Kim Tae Hee, and more.

Meanwhile, the agency immediately responded to the news.

"It is true that we had a meeting with Kang Mina. We are positively discussing the exclusive contract. However, nothing has been confirmed yet."

If the actress decides to sign with Story J Company, she will eventually become labelmates to her former "Cafe Minamdang" co-stars Seo In Gu and Oh Yeon Seo.

Kang Mina started her music career after joining Mnet's "Produce 101" and debuted as a member of the K-group, I.O.I. Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2020.

She ventured into acting and starred in numerous dramas, such as "Hotel Del Luna," "My Roommate is a Gumiho," "Moonshine," and "Cafe Minamdang.'

In a separate report in March, Kang Mina surprised her fans after her agency confirmed that she was in talks to star in a new drama, "Welcome to Samdalri," alongside Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun. It was stated that the actress was positively reviewing the offer.

"Welcome to Samdalri" will be penned by "Go Back Couple" and "Hi, Bye Mama" writer Kwon Hye Joo, and "When the Camellia Blooms" director Cha Young Hoon is assigned to helm the project.

The upcoming series follows the story of someone who appears to others like a dragon ascending gracefully. When they lose everything they have, they come crashing down. They aim to return to where they came from in order to live a normal life again.
