Goo San Young Gets Possessed

"Revenant" episode 1 begins with the tangled lives of Goo San Young (Kim Tae Ri) and Yeom Hae Sang (Oh Jung Se).

Goo San Young lives a tough life and being a victim of a voice phishing scam is the nail on the coffin. Due to her frustrations, she plans to take her own life.

When she stands on the bridge, a folklore professor named Yeom Hae Sang notices a dark shadow from under the bridge, a ghost who plans to possess a body for its resurrection.

Unfortunately, he didn't catch the evil entity as it vanished like a bubble. Meanwhile, Goo San Young wakes up feeling faint and dizzy.

Yeom Hae Sang Convinces Goo San Young

Things get worse when Goo San Young learns about his father's death. She receives a keepsafe from her grandmother, a box that contains a voice of a girl inside.

Her mother warns her not to take anything from her grandmother and both of them rush home. Goo Sang Young bumps into Yeom Hae Sang on their way out.

The folklore professor then realizes that the young woman has been possessed by the ghost under the bridge.

When they meet the following day at school, Yeom Hae Sang tells Goo San Young about the possessed. Unfortunately, the latter doesn't believe in any of that.

Goo San Young Gets Involved In Murder

At home, two investigators look for Goo San Young who's involved in her scammer's sudden demise.

The detective ruled the death by suicide but the autopsy report shows that Goo San Young's fingerprints had been found in the crime scene as well as the victim's body.

She then runs to Yeom Hae Sang for help. It turns out that the ghost who possessed her was the same ghost that killed his mother, and has now begun its attack.

Goo San Young's Another Attack

Baek Se Mi (Yang Hye Ji), Goo San Young's friend, moves into her new house which had been deemed haunted.

When they realize that some middle school students were taking pictures of them from outside the house, Goo San Young doesn't waste time and catches them.

However, she fails and on their way back, they see the teenager dead on the road. Goo San Young believes that it is because of her. Recalling what Yeom Hae Sang had said to her, she contacts him once again for help.

Who Possessed Goo San Young?

At the end of the episode, Yeom Hae Sang learns that there's another ghost besides the one who possessed Goo San Young.

He also processes the documents related to the teenager, and discovers that the three boys had bullied a transferee into taking his own life.

Meanwhile, Goo San Young drives to one of the student's houses. When she enters the house that was open, she sees a reflection in the mirror; a badly wounded teenager.
