Lee Jung Ha Purposely Gains Weight for the Role in 'Moving'
As mentioned by a news portal, Lee Jung Ha underwent a huge transformation in his character. The actor gained 66 lbs to portray high school student Kim Bong Seok.
As mentioned by "Moving" director Park In Je, since the upcoming K-drama is based on the popular webtoon, there is a distinct description for every characters.
"Casting for the role of Bong Seok was not easy because there is already an image of the character in the minds of those who have seen the original webtoon," the director explained, as obtained by the outlet.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung Ha was praised by the screenwriter and original creator of Moving," Kang Full, he lauded the actor for being "passionate" and "working really hard for his character."
On the other hand, Lee Jung Ha says that he wanted to test his ability as an actor through the upcoming K-drama as he portrays a strong character.
"Moving is a project I really wanted to challenge myself with," he said, adding, "Bong Seok is a kind and strong person. Although he cannot fly freely yet, as the story unfolds, he will grow, and it will be fun to see Bong Seok's transformation."
'Moving' Cast, Release Date
Set to premiere on August 9 via Disney+, the webtoon-based series depicts the story of a group of teenagers with superhuman abilities. However, behind this lies a painful secret that they experienced in the past.
Award-winning actor Ryu Seung Ryong plays the main character, alongside Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Sung Kyun, Ryu Seung Beom and more.
"Alchemy of Souls" star Go Youn Jung will also portray a main character.
According to reports, Disney+ will release all seven episodes globally, followed by the airing of two episodes weekly.
