The long wait is over for fans as "D.P." season 2 is set to showcase the beloved duo, Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan, portraying military desertion arrest squad members.

After Netflix confirmed the renewal of the webtoon-based series, viewers are excited to witness another round of action and drama as the story uncovers inconsistencies in the military.

Helmed by Han Jun Hee, who also directed season 1 and "Hit-and-Run Squad," the upcoming season features a mix of original and new cast members, raising more anticipation about the drama's second season.

Set to be released on July 28, "D.P." season 2 will have 6 episodes, exclusively airing via Netflix.

Before its premiere, here are the key points to look out for in the upcoming drama.

More Heartfelt Stories

If season 1 made you feel tense, worried, and entertained by Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan portraying D.P's private Ahn Jun Ho and Corporal Han Ho Yul, "D.P." season 2 will move viewers with its unexpected yet heartwarming stories inspired by true incidents.

Among these are the rigid hierarchies and bullying within the military.

To recall, one of the trailers featured a soldier being harassed by his colleagues, which pushed him to go on an unexpected shooting spree.

The scene will surely serve as an eye-opener not just for the viewers but also for the system.

Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan's Bromance

Lead stars Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan proved their on-screen chemistry as buddies in season 1, but teasers hint at their undeniable and charming bromance as they continue to team up in "D.P." season 2.

As mentioned by a media outlet, during the drama's behind-the-scenes clips, South Korean heartthrob Jung Hae In talks about his rapport with his co-star and shares how "in sync" and "perfect" everything is in season 2.

Moreover, Goo Kyo Hwan also mentioned the friendliness, which was twice as much as in Season 1.

The Cast Lineup

Of course, besides the storyline that would surely keep viewers on the edge of their seats, another fact that makes "D.P." season 2 exciting is the cast lineup.

As mentioned, it's a mix of new and returning cast members. With this, a slew of new characters will be introduced in the story.

Besides Goo Kyo Hwan, Jung Hae In, Kim Sung Kyun, and Son Seok Koo, new characters will add more color to the story.

"Thirty-Nine" star Kim Ji Hyun takes on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun, from the Ministry of National Defense Prosecutor's Office, while Ji Jin Hee from "Move to Heaven" plays as chief legal officer Goo Ja Won of the military's headquarters.

Adding to the list of new cast members is Choi Hyun Wook from "Twenty-Five Twenty-One." Despite the confirmation from Netflix and his agency, his character has not yet been disclosed.
