The production team behind the Netflix series "The WONDERfools" addressed questions related to ASTRO member Cha Eunwoo's ongoing tax evasion allegations during a press conference held on May 12 at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul. Cha Eunwoo is currently serving in the military as the controversy unfolds.

Separately, a report from Korea JongAng Daily said that Cha Eun Woo was seen attending a military band event while serving his mandatory military service amid ongoing tax evasion allegations involving over 20 billion won (about $13.5 million). Photos showed him performing in uniform and saluting during the event.
The controversy began after reports from South Korea's National Tax Service claimed he owed additional taxes linked to income from a company connected to his family. Cha later apologized, took responsibility, and confirmed that he had paid all outstanding taxes.
Despite the backlash, he continues his military service and is expected to be discharged in January 2027.
