Jo Yu Ri Reveals Raw Thoughts On Career

On August 13, idol-actress Jo Yu Ri tugged at the public's heartstrings with her appearance in a web show "JAYKEEOUT."

She talked about her struggles as an artist that the fans don't know about. Jo Yu Ri confessed that she had a difficult time both emotionally and mentally early this 2023.

According to the singer-actress, she struggled in understanding her feelings which makes it difficult for her to cope while simultaneously working as a Hallyu star.

Jo Yu Ri also ponders about the things that she could have done differently. The artist stated that she regrets not enjoying her teenage years as a university student.

She reasoned, "I haven't experienced doing things like MTs, educational tours and other things that students do."

Although she went camping before with her idol friends, Jo Yu Ri admitted that she sometimes wishes to go to a university to study, dreaming of campus life.

Some of her friends who go to university while working as an idol discourage her due to time constraints, eliciting laughter.

Jo Yu Ri shared that at the beginning of 2023, things felt so heavy and tough for her.

From major setbacks and failed auditions, everything has just taken a toll on her especially since she's the kind of person to delve deeply into her own drowning emotions.

Despite it all, she found ways to cope and channeled her negative emotions into her acting auditions.

"I plan to use my emotions as potent energy sources in my acting pursuits," Jo Yu Ri said. "Not feeling satisfied and being depressed did a lot on me."

After a thousand auditions, Jo Yu Ri bagged a role in the second season of Netflix's "Squid Game," which she refers to as a miracle.

Jo Yu Ri is working opposite big stars Park Gyu Young, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Jung Jae and more which raises tension among fans and spectators.
