Jeon Jong Seo Gets Candid About New Film 'Ballerina'

This 2023, Jeon Jong Seo returned with the newest action drama film "Ballerina."

She transformed into a bodyguard to set out on a dangerous hunt to avenge the death of her best friend, a ballerina who died at the hands of a sex trafficking syndicate.

Jeon Jong Seo has proven her acting skills in various works like "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area," "Burning" and "The Call," which also cemented her as a rising action star.

Because of her desire to be better in every work she does, she didn't hesitate to accept the role in the film which was directed by her real life partner director Lee Chung Hyun.

"For me, "Ballerina" gave me the opportunity to show a different side of me," Jeon Jong Seo said. "I prepared a lot for this film. It's a work that I poured all my love into."

"I also think that "Ballerina" is an emotional work," she added. "Why take revenge is the question stuck in my head during filming, and I tried to showcase that emotion until the end."

When asked about her most memorable scene, Jeon Jong Seo chose the sequences where she fought with a large number of men who were twice as big as her.

According to her, it wasn't only fun but it also challenged her in memorizing the choreography for the scenes.

Jeon Jong Seo Reveals Secret From 'Ballerina' Film

Prior to filming Netflix's "Ballerina," Jeon Jong Seo stood tall with a normal frame and an enviable fitness.

However, the actress revealed in an interview that she ate a lot right before filming began, which made it crucial for her character as a bodyguard in a big bust operation.

Jeon Jong Seo confessed, "I ate a lot because I didn't like my skinny body. I wanted a healthy-looking body so I gained quite a few pounds."

Before filming, the actress exercised a lot and built muscles. She even continued enhancing her physique during the filming to showcase her character becoming even stronger.

As for her diet tips, Jeon Jong Seo sent everyone into laughter by saying, "Eat a lot. Just exercise twice a week. No need to restrict eating habits because it's also difficult for me."
