Yang Se Jong o His K-drama Comeback 'Doona'

One of the highly-anticipated K-dramas of 2023 is the Netflix series "Doona," headlined by Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong. Based on the webtoon "The Girl Downstairs," the story focuses on the unlikely friendship turned romance between former K-pop idol Lee Doona, played by Bae Suzy, and college student Lee Won.

The Netflix series is Yang Se Jong's first project after serving in the military for almost two years. As cited by Forbes, the actor said that he is looking forward to working on the Netflix series after getting the offer. He said that he chose "Doona '' as his K-drama comeback because he felt his heart thump after reading the script.

Another reason for accepting the offer is because of director Lee Jung Hyo, whose famous works include "Crash Landing on You," "Romance is a Bonus Book," "The Good Wife," and "Criminal Minds."

"I watched 'Crash Landing on You,' as well as 'Romance Is a Bonus Book' and 'Life on Mars'," he said, expressing his eagerness to work with the director, adding, "I always felt that I would really like to work with Director Lee Jung-hyo one day."

"Doona" was released on October 20 exclusively on Netflix and has a total of nine episodes for the season.

Currently, "Doona" is among the top 10 TV shows on Netflix worldwide, ranking first in 9 countries like South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and more, as cited by Flix Patrol.
