Nia Dacosta's Love for K-Dramas Made Her Know Park Seo Joon

Ahead of his debut on the big screen, the creative mind behind the upcoming film "The Marvels" revealed the reason for casting Park Seo Joon as Prince Yan in the Hollywood movie.

The heartthrob is set to make a new milestone as he prepares to level up his career by playing the role of Prince Yan in "The Marvels."

In a media interview, the movie's director Nia Dacosta talked more about "The Marvels" including Park Seo Joon's appearance. According to her, during COVID, her friends introduced her to "Itaewon Class," which actor headlined.

She then explained that she had always loved watching K-dramas, especially during her teenage years.

"Honestly, I was also a fan of Korean dramas during my teenage years, so I started binge-watching the show to return to those days. Park Seo Joon looked really cool in the drama. Then, I began watching other works by him and remembered his name."

As the interview progressed, Nia Dacosta mentioned that after she took charge of directing the Marvel film and needed to choose someone to play Prince Yan, the "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim" actor immediately came to her mind.

"As I took the lead in directing 'The Marvels,' and while thinking about who would be suitable for the role of Prince Yan, Park Seo Joon came to mind."

Thanks to Park Seo Joon's iconic role Park Sae Ro Yi in the 2020 drama "Itaewon Class," and great talent in acting, the Korean star bagged his first-ever American movie and is now about to make a Hollywood debut.

In just over a week, "The Marvels" is finally meeting the international viewers for its much-anticipated release. Adding to the excitement is to see a Korean act portraying another iconic role in an American project. People are also anticipating how he will be received by Marvel fans.

"The Marvels" will be screened in Korea beginning November 8, and November 10 in the United States and other countries.

Unfortunately, Park Seo Joon will not have promotional activities in Korea for the movie due to the ongoing strike of the actors in the US.
