Jang Na Ra's Past 'Controversial' Remark Resurfaces

Jang Na Ra had a huge fanbase in China during her early years in showbiz.

In particular, between 2004 and 2008, her career expanded in the country, earning her many working opportunities there.

She even got selected as the only foreign artist to contribute her voice to the theme song for the Beijing Olympics.

Despite being one of the pioneers of the Korean wave in China, the actress soon received backlash from Chinese people after an unfortunate slip of the tongue.

During one of her interviews, the "See Your Haunted House" actress remarked, "Whenever I run out of money, I always go to China to work."

It has been said that her original implication was that she gets paid better in China.

However, when that clip was released in China, the translation of what she said implied that she goes to China whenever she needs money. Due to this, her relationship with Chinese fans got soured.

Jang Na Ra apologized but since that incident, she couldn't get any more work in China.
