Ji Chang Wook Returns to Romance K-Drama With Shin Hye Sun in 'Welcome to Samdalri'

Beginning the second half of 2023, Ji Chang Wook graced the screen with "The Worst of Evil." He turned into an undercover detective Kang Joon Mo, who disguised as Kwon Seung Ho to catch the mastermind behind a big gang doing drug operations. 

He exhibited another yet praiseworthy acting that even the viewers were impressed with. The director of the drama even commended Ji Chang Wook for his role.

His comeback series concluded with a good rating, and the heartthrob is about to meet again the audience this coming December with "Welcome to Samdalri." He will team up with prominent actress Shin Hye Sun and fans are already excited to see more of their chemistry on screen.

'Bulk,' 'Revolver,' 'Sculptured City,' More Projects for Ji Chang Wook

Apart from this, Ji Chang Wook is being courted to appear in the crime drama "Bulk" alongside Jo Woo Jin and Ha Yun Kyung. Cha Eun Woo previously received casting to headline the project, but later declined the offer. 

Expanding his expertise not just in romance and action, Ji Chang Wook is about to explore diverse genres that will showcase his skills as an efficient actor. 

Adding to his potential work is the revenge drama "Sculptured City." On November 13, media outlets reported that the 36-year-old actor received a casting offer to lead the series alongside idol-actor Doh Kyungsoo. 

What surprised the fans is that, "Sculptured City'' is rumored to have a production cost of 35 billion won (approximately 26.4 million USD), making them more interested in the possible team-up of Ji Chang Wook and EXO's Doh Kyungsoo in one project. 

As a sneak peek, both actors' agencies stated that their artists are positively reviewing the offer. Once they accept the roles, the production will eventually start filming with the goal of releasing the series in 2024. 

Last, the Korean actor is offered to join Lim Ji Yeon and Jeon Do Yeon in the action film "Revolver." It features the story of a former police, Soo Young, who lives her life with only purpose and goal in mind. 

Ji Chang Wook is still considering appearing in the movie. 

Furthermore, from mystery, and romance to comedy, Ji Chang Wook will also meet the audience through the historical drama "Empress Woo" also known as "Queen Woo." It is a chase action series that foretells the story of Queen Woo who becomes the target of groups of tribes seeking to gain authority and princes who compete to get the throne following the sudden death of the King. 

Ji Chang Wook will share the frame with Jun Jeong Seo, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kim Moo Yul, Jung Yu Mi, and Park Ji Hwan. The drama is scheduled to air on primetime in the first half of 2024 on TVING.
