Seo Min-jung is back in the news when comments she made about her early troubles came back to light, along with news about her life abroad, where she has been residing for a few years.

Seo's rekindled interest comes at a time when she and her family are still living in New York and have not been able to go back to South Korea for around three years. Fans and online communities have been talking about her condition and the honest stories she has told about her history.

Naver reported that a recent online post brought up Seo's participation on a variety show when she talked honestly about how hard it was for her to make ends meet while she was in college. She said, "When I was a college student, I was short on money. My mother wouldn't give me an allowance."

Then she went into further detail about how she had tried to get money by working part-time. Seo Min-jung said, "I tried tutoring, but I kept getting sleepy. So, I got fired for sleeping with a student. A friend told me that a way to earn money had come up. They suggested we go buy some goods. They said all I had to do was follow a certain man around. When I said, 'I've never run a business before,' they just asked me to be his helper," according to MyDaily.

She also talked about another strange job incident that made people giggle at the time. "I went to the subway with a box of rubber gloves. When the man was explaining the gloves, he told me to put them on the handrail and hang on. To show me how tough they were."

As she continued the story, she talked about how her family reacted to what she did. Seo Min-jung said, "When I got home after earning 3,400 won, my mom was really angry. She told me to bring her bag. She said her friend saw everything. My mom said, 'You'd be better off begging. I went to all the trouble to put you through college, and what are you doing?'"

Seo has been posting on social media about her life in the United States more recently. She thought about her time abroad and said, "I couldn't even give year-end greetings or New Year's greetings, and now more than half of January has already passed. This winter in New York seems unusually cold."

She also talked about how she felt about being away from home. Seo Min-jung said, "It's been about three years since I've been able to go to Korea. I miss the winter air there. Even though I'm far away, I will always hope and pray that you stay healthy."

Seo Min-jung married a Korean-American dentist in 2007. Since then, she has been raising their daughter in New York.
