Following a report on the drama's possible premiere, the streaming giant updated the public about the status of the series.

In a report, a representative from Netflix explained that the premiere of "Goodbye Earth" is still under discussion.

"The release schedule for 'Goodbye Earth' has not been determined. It is temporarily postponed."

Despite this, the streaming giant assured the public that they "will provide further information on the specific release schedule as soon as it is confirmed."

Prior to Netflix's response, a news portal stated that Yoo Ah In's drama was looking into releasing the series in April 2024.

Other than this, the actor's appearance in "Goodbye Earth" would be edited out as much as possible.

Supporting Actor Posts Heartbreaking Reaction to Postponement of 'Goodbye Earth'

It can be recalled that the Netflix original series wrapped up its filming in the first quarter of 2023 but got postponed due to the actor's involvement in illegal drugs.

Due to this, supporting actor Kim Young Woong took to social media to express his dismay regarding the situation involving the upcoming series.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post, the actor lamented about the sacrifices of everyone, from the staff to the actors, writers, and directors, which are "about to disappear" due to one incident.

"I have no intention of defending him. Of course, there must be a price for him to pay. However, it is upsetting that 'Goodbye Earth,' which was about to be born through the hard work and sacrifice of countless people, will not see the light of day."

Other than "Goodbye Earth," the upcoming K-drama "The Match," which also stars Yoo Ah In, experienced the same fate and was halted for the time being.

Besides the negative effect on his two upcoming dramas, Yoo Ah In voluntarily stepped down from his role in "Hellbound" season 2.

Netflix confirmed that Kim Sung Cheol would take over the actor's role as religious leader Jung Jin Su, set to make a comeback in the sequel.

On top of it, brands also cut ties with the actor after testing positive for five drugs, particularly propofol, cocaine, marijuana, ketamine, and zolpidem.

Yoo Ah In Expected to Appear on His First Formal Trial

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In is still dealing with the drug charges against him and is set to appear in his first trial after being postponed.

Initially set in November, the actor's camp requested a reschedule to have ample time for them to prepare for the case.

Yoo Ah In is expected to appear in court on December 12 on charges regarding a violation of the Narcotics Act.
