In the controversial video, a behind-the-scenes clip featured the actor smoking indoors, which is illegal in South Korea and is only allowed in designated smoking areas.

However, what caught the fans' attention was Shin Hye Sun's response.

In the behind-the-scenes clip, the actress knew that her co-star was smoking indoors since she was only beside Ji Chang Wook.

Instead of making a fuss out of it, Shin Hye Sun remained professional and focused on practicing her script with a smile on her face.

As mentioned by a media outlet, fans called Shin Hye Sun's response "admirable," saying that "it must have been very tiring sitting next to him (Ji Chang Wook), but she was practicing the script so hard."

"If people were crowded in such a small place, the air would be bad even if they just stayed still," one added.

Ji Chang Wook's Agency Releases Apology

As mentioned, the video was taken during the filming of Ji Chang Wook's drama "Welcome to Samdalri." After the behind-the-scenes clip sparked controversy, the actor's agency released a statement addressing the issue.

According to a news outlet, Ji Chang Wook's label, Spring Company, apologized to the people who "felt uncomfortable" about the actor's action.

"The behind-the-scenes content in question included a scene of actor Ji Chang Wook smoking an electronic cigarette indoors. The scene brought discomfort to those who saw it as improper," the official statement reads.

In addition, Spring Company said that the South Korean heartthrob acknowledges that his "behavior was improper" and "feels sorry for disappointing many people."

"Welcome to Samdalri" is among Ji Chang Wook's projects for 2024.

Viewers will get to see more of the actor in the upcoming historical K-drama "Queen Woo." Helmed by "Oh! My Gran" director Jung Se Kyo, the upcoming series also stars notable actors, such as Jeon Jeong Seo of "Money Heist: Korea" and Kim Moo Yeol of "Juvenile Justice."

Adding to the list of lead stars are Jung Yoo Mi, Park Ji Wan, and Lee Soo Hyuk.

As viewers await the highly anticipated series, "Queen Woo" will join a slew of K-dramas airing this year and will be released via TVING.
