'Hospital Playlist' Fans Pay Tribute to Medical K-Drama's 4th Anniversary

Although viewers are waiting for "Hospital Playlist" season 3, fans are celebrating the 4th anniversary of the TVN K-drama.

Officially aired on March 12, 2020, the broadcast network introduced a group of doctors who share the same passion and interest.

Fans Celebrate 'Hospital Playlist' 4th Anniversary

Fans expressed their happiness on social media and in online communities as they celebrated an interesting milestone with viewers who were delighted and entertained by the medical K-drama.

Celebrating the drama's 4th anniversary, netizens posted their favorite scenes in "Hospital Playlist."

Meanwhile, others shared the first episode, the trailer, and the opening billboard of the series, featuring Yulje Medical Center and the main characters Lee Ik Jun, Ahn Jung Won, Kim Jun Wan, Yang Suk Hyung, and Chae Song Hwa.

Interestingly, fans also thanked "Hospital Playlist" for being their "comfort kdrama," delivering heartwarming stories of the doctors, staff, and their patients.

As mentioned, the TVN series first introduced the medical K-drama to the public in 2020, showcasing the stories of people at the fictional hospital Yulje Medical Center.

The cast includes Jo Jung Suk, Jeon Mi Do, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, and Kim Dae Myung.

"Hospital Playlist" featured the five doctors, who are also longtime friends and started their undergrad way back in 1999, hence why fans called them the 99ers.

Other than their similarities through their profession, the group also formed a band called the Mi Do and the Parasols."

Jeon Mi Do on 'Hospital Playlist'

In a previous interview, Jeon Mi Do revealed that they are really playing the instruments, adding, "In order to film those scenes, I began practicing instruments last summer."

As some may not know, most of the lead stars have a background in musical theater.

Jeon Mi Do even bagged the Best Actress award at the 2017 Korean Musical Awards.

The actress also shared during the interview that it was Jo Jung Suk who recommended her to director Shin Won Ho, and the rest is history for her.

"He told the director, 'There's an actress I want to recommend that I really have no personal relationship with.' After hearing that, the director thought, 'There's no way it could be Jeon Mi Do,' but Jo Jung Suk had recommended me. He had said that without even knowing I had auditioned."

Will There Be 'Hospital Playlist' Season 3?

With fans celebrating the drama's 4th anniversary, the burning question is: will there be "Hospital Playlist" season 3?

Unfortunately, TVN and drama officials have yet to confirm if they'll be releasing the third season; however, the broadcast network is scheduled to release a spin-off featuring new cast members.

Headlined by Go Yoon Jung, Kang Yoo Seok, and more, tvN will release "Resident Playbook," a prequel to "Hospital Playlist," in 2024.
