In a 2024 interview with SBS, Lee described her husband as a "taciturn" man who was often tinged with humor, quite different from his public, stoic demeanor.

"He's definitely quite shy, but when he's with close friends, he's the funniest person in the room," she said. "In our group chats, he barely writes anything—unless it's something funny. He's always thinking of ways to make people laugh."

Lee, best known for her roles in dramas such as Cunning Single Lady and Once Again, also shared how their different personalities shape their dynamic at home.

"I express my anger right away," she said. "But my husband is the type to stay calm and listen to everything I say."

The actress revealed that even Lee Byung-hun's social media activity reflects their relationship.

"Sometimes, he even asks me if his Instagram captions are funny before posting," she said with a laugh.

Their marriage, which has weathered the glare of public attention, was thrown into turmoil in 2014 after a blackmail scandal linked to accusations of infidelity engulfed Lee Byung-hun.

Lee Min-jung, at the time, was pregnant with their first child.

Though the two women were subsequently found guilty of blackmail, the scandal was a significant blow to Lee Byung-hun's public image, and many have been waiting for a divorce.

Instead, Lee Min-jung chose forgiveness.

"I saw not only his flaws but also the sides of him that the world never sees," she said in earlier interviews. In the years since Lee Byung-hun has taken fewer projects and reportedly focused more on his family.

The couple now shares two children and has given occasional glimpses into their domestic life through variety shows.

In a May 2025 appearance on Problem Child in House 2, Lee Min-jung described her husband as "technologically challenged," noting that he still prints maps instead of using apps.

However, she praised his parenting, saying their daughter adores him, and their son even gives editing tips for her YouTube channel.

Lee Byung-hun, 52, also opened up during a March appearance on the talk show Zzanbro, saying he has learned to be a better listener.

"Now I respond with supportive sounds," he said. He also shared his admiration for his wife's humor: "She likes being funny. She'll comment something hilarious on my Instagram, then bring it up at home."

The actor's transformation from a scandal-tainted celebrity to a devoted father and husband has resonated with some fans.

Still, recent reports stirred mild controversy when he was photographed whispering to another woman and kissing her on the cheek at a bar — allegedly the same bar he visited with his wife.

Neither he nor Lee Min-jung has addressed the photo publicly.

Despite the bumps in the road, Lee Min-jung's recent remarks have highlighted a marriage that has endured scrutiny and personal growth.

"With all we've been through, I know who he really is," she said. "And that's what matters."
