On August 28, Management SOOP CEO Kim Jang Kyun put out a brief but assertive statement on Instagram.

"You're going to be in so much trouble... if you get caught spreading false rumors..." Kim said, threatening lawsuits.

The news came after a jjirashi, or privately distributed "tip sheet," posted that Suzy would wed Kim Byung Hoon, CEO of APR—the firm behind such beauty brands as APRILSKIN and Medicube.

The rumors went the rounds in the online Korean communities, including theqoo, where people were speculating whether Suzy "marrying rich."

One of the posts read, "It looks like Suzy's going to marry rich after all. The articles are going to come soon, LOL"

APR and Management SOOP both denied the accusation, terming it as baseless. Nevertheless, the rumor persisted online, and it attracted enough attention that Kim Jang Kyun personally responded to it.

In the meantime, others on the internet theorized that the timing of the report could be deliberate, as there had been a string of news reports covering Kim Byung Hoon's business success just before the wedding rumor started trending.

The headlines focused on his success in the K-beauty industry and how his business had expanded globally.

Regardless, however, fans of Suzy did not even care, dismissing the rumor and rallying the star against gossip.

"But Suzy likes good-looking dudes" said one fan.

Another said, "I saw this on another forum too, and was like... Suzy?? Really?? Why?? And she already made enough money herself."

Others demanded tougher measures to shield the actress.

"It's really blowing up. Please just leave Suzy alone," read one post.

Another added, "Reminds me of when my favorite actor got hit with a rumor, I'm getting PTSD... damn it, Suzy please sue them!"

Some also expressed suspicion about how the rumor spread.

"Okay but his business-pitch type posts all came at once, way too coordinated. LOL. Like this is scary," one user wrote.

For now, the agency's warning seems to have quelled the speculation, with fans continuing to support Suzy unfazed.
