Many fans and people in the industry are talking about Goo Hye-sun's product launch because they say she combines her artistic side with her skills acquired after getting her master's degree in engineering.

Daum reported that she went into detail about the production process she talked about in public. On the 19th, Goo Hye-sun shared several photos on her social media showing the production process, including her personally cutting leather and carefully sewing, with the caption 'All-night handmade.'

The pouch is meant to hold the "Kooroll," a rectangular hair roller that Goo invented and got a patent for. The product is unique because it is made of vintage leather and has a completely unique design. This is because she was personally involved in its development.

However, the pricing quickly became a source of contention. The item was sold as a set with two rollers for 150,000 won (99.65 USD), but some customers thought it was too expensive compared to other similar items on the market.

The Chosun Daily's coverage addressed the expressed concerns. Before, some people had also criticized the hair rollers sold separately for being 'too expensive' at 13,000 won (8.64 USD), since the price is higher than the usual prices for hair rollers or pouches."

Even though there was a lot of backlash, people still wanted to buy it. After the product came out, website traffic shot up, and all of the available stock sold out quickly. This shows how strong the Goo brand is.

Right after the product launch, the number of visitors to Goo Hye-sun's official sales website went up by an amazing 2,596.4% compared to the same time last month, with over 38,000 visits.

Goo discussed the project as more than just a business venture, focusing on its cultural and conceptual aspects. The outlet featured her explanation of the product's intended purpose.

"Defining it as a project that expands the phenomenology of K-culture," she explained, "I wanted to incorporate into the product the unique landscape of Korean society where people go out wearing hair rollers, and the narratives contained within it."

She also talked about the problems with pricing directly. Her clarification was also in the same report. "Along with an eco-friendly design that reduced plastic content by over 80%, the cost was inevitably set high due to the limited initial production quantity," she said.

Goo's academic success has also altered people's perceptions of her, aside from her business. She completed her master's in engineering at KAIST ahead of time and is now recognized for her integration of science, design, and entertainment.

There are varying opinions about Goo's "celebrity premium" pricing. Industry experts are closely monitoring how Goo's diverse career continues to shape trends in culture and business.
