In "You Who Came From The Stars" Jun Ji Hyun plays famous actress Chun Song Yi, so it makes sense that her character refers to k-dramas, celebrities and scandals. And dramas often mention other dramas or poke fun at watching dramas least once during the show's run.

But "You Who Came From The Stars" makes many references to the k-drama world it helps parody. Each episode has at least one k-pop/k-drama reference. For example, when the possibility comes up that Chung Song Yi and Do Min Joon, played by Kim Soo Hyun, might share some chemistry she denies it. She says he is out of her league, citing her past co-stars.

"Do you even know the kind of people I make movies with," asks Chun Song Yi. "Jung Woo Sung? Kang Dong Won? Won Bin?"

In real life, Jun Ji Hyun is a film star and those are the male leads she might  work with. In "Daisy," she played the woman Jung Woo Sung fell in love with.

How could Do Min Joon compete?

In a later episode she reminds him why she would never consider kissing him.

"I even kissed Jo In Sung...in a drama."

Early in the show she says someone looks so young they could be hanging out with Suzy of Girls Generation.

And when her mom is talking about her daughter's box office bankability, she says she has received no calls from Jeguk, a reference to "The Heirs."

Then there is the funny scene when she's driving in the car, singing a parody of a song that BigBang's G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don sang for the Infinite Challenge Song Festival.

She's singing, "Chun Song Yi is rapping, song, song, song..."

When G-Dragon and Hyung Dong sang it, the lyrics were "Hyung Don is rapping hong, hong, hog. Ji Yong is rapping hong hong hong."

Writer Park Ji Eun loves her drama references and Chun Song Yi is not the only one who makes them. When Kim Soo Hyun is in the hospital telling the doctor about Jun Ji Hyun's condition, the doctor looks at him and says, "It's not a medical drama."

When the villainous character played by Shin Sung Rok seeks a way to dispose of Chun Song Yi, he discusses anesthesia with a veterinarian. The vet gives him some drugs and says, this is propofol, you know the drug those actresses went on trial for. He's referring to last year's scandal with k-drama actresses Park Si Yeon, Lee Seung Yeon and Jang Mi Ne.

Each episode has at least one reference. See if you can spot the one in the next episode. Let us know what you find.
