K-drama leads are handsome and charming, so it's fun to imagine dating one. And they may help sum up just what you're looking for in a boyfriend. However, if your boyfriend displays any of the following k-drama lead characteristics, it may not work out in real life.

1. He starts stalking you. This can happen in a variety of ways. He could be following you wearing a minimal disguise as did Jung Yong Hwa when he was following Park Shin Hye in "You're Beautiful" or he might have logged into your social media apps as Lee Min Ho did in "The Heirs." Or he might hire someone to follow you. In k-dramas this happens because he feels a strong need to protect you. If this happens in real life, it's not a good sign.

2. He needs a personality transplant. He's either a jerk because he's a rich mall owner, as So Ji Sub was in "The Master's Sun" or Ji Sung was in "Protect The Boss" or he's emotionally aloof because he's an alien as Kim Soo Hyun is in "You Who Came From The Stars." Or he's a brat because women like him too much. Think Jang Geun Suk in most of his roles. While the heroine in k-dramas always improves her man, the odds are slightly lower in real life.

3. His parents don't like you. And sometimes yours don't like him. You're not rich enough, well connected enough or pretty enough to marry him. And they've already picked someone out for him. In dramas this can be overcome. In real life, you may not want to live with these in-laws.

4. He grabs your wrist. In almost every drama the male lead grabs the wrist of the heroine. In "Coffee Prince," "Secret Garden," "Heartstrings" and "Personal Taste," there's a lot of wrist grabbing going on. There's also pushing, poking and kissing girls against their will. This physical aggression is almost made up for by the k-drama boyfriend offering a piggyback ride. Although in real life, it's a good idea never to get so drunk you can't walk home.

5. He's part of a love triangle or a love square. If you are lucky enough to have one k-drama character madly in love with you, you will inevitably have two. This might sound good but they may be the only two people that ever love you in your entire life and you will have to choose between them, making the perfectly acceptable second lead miserable. Or there may be a woman that loves him and makes your life miserable.

If you suspect this is happening, break up with him and watch a k-drama instead. The female lead is probably much better equipped to deal with these issues than you are.
