Lee Bo Young said, "My income decreased to one tenth of what I used to make. I did a lot of naïve, first love type of roles. When I said I had a boyfriend, all of those roles got dropped." She then added, "When I was about to film this one drama, the other male main character said he did not want to film it because I had a boyfriend. Words like that became hurtful as time went by. It was not like I was an extraordinary actress or young. There were so many other actors who could replace me. Those things hurt me a lot. When I was going through these thoughts I, for the first time, felt that I wanted to be that extraordinary actress. I wanted to be an actress that people wanted to work with, even when I had a boyfriend."
