After the success of Google's Chromecast in the US, it is now expanding to 11 other countries. The wider market includes Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.

The 2l83 HDMI dongle was released in July 2013 by Google as a response to the need of providing HD television and premium video content to American households.

Through a local network or an available WiFi, the device conveniently streams videos on your desktop or mobile phone.

Chromecast apps are available for download from its official website, via Google Play or iOS' App Store, or from third party sources.

Besides the popular apps such as YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Movies, and Netflix, Google announced that they are working to provide local content for the mentioned countries.

Users can download region-based apps in their respective countries such as BBC iPlayer (U.K.), France TV Pluzz and SFR TV (France), and Watchever (Germany).

The cheap price of Chromecast (sold at $35 in the US) makes it an affordable gadget for TV and movie buffs. In the U.K., it is expected to increase in sales. The retail price is only £30, almost a £70-difference with competitors like Apple TV (£99) and the Roku 3 (£99).

The 11 countries mentioned can buy Chromecast from Amazon, Google Play, Currys PC World, Elkjøp, FNAC, Saturn, Media Markt and other shops.
