The 2014 edition of the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus has been creating a buzz in the ultrabook division.

During the last Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that happened in January 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada, participants had a first look of the improved Samsung  ATIV Book 9 Plus.

The larger 15.6" FHD touch screen display (1920×1080 pixels) still renders even the most minute details. It was originally released last year as a 13.3" ultrabook with a QHD+ touch display of 3200×1800 pixels.

This can be perfect for graphic designers who are particular with the illustrations or photographs they work on, or for film buffs who want to level up the cinematic experience wherever they go.

Its screen can still be tilted up to 180 degrees, giving you the convenience of reading in tight spaces or sharing the screen with your friends by laying it down on a table.

While the larger Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus' still boasts its superbly sharp screen, is the new version powerful enough in the inside to meet your needs?

The answer is yes.

The ultrabook's processor can be a choice between a dual-core Intel Core i5 or i7 chip.

It also has an Intel HD Graphics 400 card, 8GB RAM, up to 1024 GB SSD (dual SSD) for storage, and a 720p built-in camera.

TechRadar's Joe Osborne pointed out that it's the first "with native lossless audio support" in the market, citing that "it can playback CD-quality (or lossless) audio files at their full bitrate."

Brittany Hillen of Slash Gear highlighted the improved battery life, saying, "one of the most notable aspects of the latest ATIV is the 14-hour battery life, allowing it to be used all day without worrying about when and where to plug in."

All of its hardware may sound "heavy", but the ultrabook is very light, weighing at 1.85 kg only.

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus 2014 Edition will be available during the first half of the year.
