Actor Jung Suk Won has resolved his legal dispute with his ex-agency Forestar Entertainment and can now move forward in his career.

The actor told Ohmynews that his contract with that agency has been cancelled and there will be no further lawsuits.

The actor signed with the agency as a stuntman and then acquired several acting roles, including appearances in "Iris II" and "Rooftop Prince." Over time he disagreed with the way his agency was handling his career. He also said they did not take enough steps to protect his privacy, particularly when it came to his relationship with his wife singer Baek Ji Young. He tried to cancel his contract but Forestar said that it was impossible to terminate. The actor had almost four years left on his contract and they did not feel they had breached any of the terms.

Rumors began to spread that the actor did not show up to film the movie "Battle of Yeonpyeong" because of the dispute. Rumors also said the actor had stopped communicating with his agency. However the actor said that neither rumor was true.

Filming was delayed for reasons that had nothing to do with the contractual dispute.

"Jung Suk Won always tries to do his best when filming," said a representative of the film's production company. "So rumors that he did not show up are completely untrue."

And the actor was waiting for his agency to respond to his request for mediation. He was eager to talk to them about that issue.

The case was referred to an arbitration committee within the Korean Entertainment Management Association, also known as KEMA.

Both sides recently reached an agreement. Although Jung Suk Won's team originally wanted the dispute to go to court, they were pleased that the decision went in their favor.

Jung Suk Won's lawyer Lim Sang Hyuk, said that "As of April 8, Jung Suk Won's contract with Forestar Entertainment has been cancelled. We have decided that there will be no further lawsuits from either party and we each wish the other the best of luck in future."

During the time of dispute, KEMA asked that all KEMA members refrain from using Jung Suk Won in any of their productions. Now that the case has been resolved, the actor is free to take roles.

The actor's wife was also involved in a lawsuit last year. She took legal action against netizens who spread malicious rumors about her miscarriage.
