Beats by Dr. Dre has become one of the best-selling headphones in the music market since its first release in 2008. With its tremendous success in commercial sales, it is not a surprise that Apple, a leading computer products giant, would like to purchase Dr. Dre's electronics company for a whopping $3.2 billion deal!

E! Online reported that the acquisition would possibly Apple's biggest deal ever and it will also include the acquisition of the recently launched Beats Music in January. Beats Music is a strong competitor to Spotify and Pandora.

Next to Mac computers, music has been the strength of Apple's business. With the release of iPod and iTunes more than a decade ago, the company's growth increased tremendously which immediately lead to release of iPhone and eventually rivaled the sales of other mobile companies worldwide.

The deal discussions were revealed earlier by Financial Times and it stated that the Beats leadership team will report directly to Apple's Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook. Dr. Dre, who along with music executive Jimmy Iovine founded the Dre Electronics together, is still have to give his comments about the upcoming acquisition deal. Meanwhile Beats' spokeswoman Christine Monaghan did not respond to phone calls and email responses from the press.
