Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ Levels With Beatles Records; Tops Billboard 100, Ariana Grande Collaboration At No. 2

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" has joined The Beatles in the very rare company of performers hitting the first and second ranks on Billboard Hot 100.

According to Idolator, said that aside from Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," the Australian rapper has Arian Grande o be thankful for after hitting No. 2 with "Problem." The website also said that the younger generation should emulate Remy Ma, the first female rapper to land No. 1 in the "Billboard Hot 100."

The Beatles first achieved the feat in 1964 with "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You," more likely helped by their guesting on "Ed Sullivan" show.

After hearing of the news, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter in order to thank her fans. "Well I'm very pleased, last year seemed impossible to convince anyone in the music business I could break into the top 100. Haha."

"Let this serve as proof anything is possible," she added in another tweet on Thursday.

She then tweeted: "I hope we see more female rappers new and established in the charts. Dope stuff, thanks!"

Iggy Azalea became just the fourth Australian performer who managed to get to the top of the US billboard charts, starting with the "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by the Bee Gees.

As far as Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" goes, she became just the fourth solo female rapper to land No. 1 at the Hot 100, following in the footsteps of Lil' Kim, Lauryn Hill and Shwanna, the collaborate for Ludicris', said smh.com.
