Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One should offer the treat racing fans expect from a next-gen console; the title also sustains the Xbox 360's appeal and lifespan.

It's a week before the much-awaited E3 Event, and developers are gradually releasing reveals and "leaks" meant to tease the gaming community. Release dates are confirmed, and gameplay footage posted online as a sample of things to come.

Gamers will have to wait until this fall for Forza Horizon 2, but developers ensure it's worthwhile. Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are collaborating on the project, on a game with innovations to offer.

Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One is console-exclusive, but it's fortunate Microsoft decided to port the title to the aging Xbox 360. The previous-gen console has seen better days, but it's far from obsolete with a follow-up to its flagship racing simulation, Forza Horizon.

The Xbox One came out with promising titles to boot, and Forza Motorsport 5 was one of those which showcased the potential of the new console. Creative director Ralph Fulton promises Forza Horizon 2 takes it a notch higher: "[Turn 10 and Playground] share this belief that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One.

Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One showcases new vistas in new locations. Racing tracks are set against the backdrop of Southern Europe, revolving around a local music festival. Music plays a vital role in gameplay, and its actual integration should add to the excitement of races.

Innovations to the game include the weather system that's a staple of the Gran Turismo installments. Familiar features like the Drivatar system also make a comeback.

The title will offer hundreds of cars for selection, something to look forward to in a next-gen game. The title obtained license to adopt real-world vehicles, with the Lamborghini Huracán headlining the fleet. Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One is console-exclusive, and should give the Microsoft consoles an edge against the PlayStation 4 (ign.com).
