Love Ruled The Ratings This Week
Love ruled the ratings this week, whether it was the lost lovers, played by Jin Se Yeon and Lee Jong Suk reuniting or whether it's the unhealthy obsession that Daniel Choi's character has with his lover, played by Lee Da Hee.
The tragically separated North Korean lovers were reunited in "Doctor Stranger" when Lee Jong Suk's character found out that anesthesiologist Han Seung Hee was Song Jae Hee after all. He finds out her true identity when she risks exposure to save his life. The drama's reunited lovers kissed and the ratings rose to 13.2 percent. That was a 0.7 percent increase in the ratings.
Her elaborate ruse has something to do with the prime minister's upcoming operation but its certain that all of the drama's secrets have not yet been revealed.
Both surgical teams in the running for the prime minister's operation operated on he endangered twins. The first operations were successful but then an emergency prompted another operation. The twins were saved and the drama remained in first place.
Last week it looked as if "Big Man" might threaten the first place position of "Doctor Stranger" as the drama's ratings exceeded 10 percent. This week the revenge drama was back down to 10 percent exactly, which is 1.2 percent less than the previous episode.
In the most recent episode, Daniel Choi's character showed just how twisted his love for his fiancée was. Hyeosung Trading defaulted but he would not let Lee Da Hee's character take responsibility for anything that happened saying that she was now one of the family and the woman he intended to marry. She could not refuse to marry him or it was obvious that she would become the enemy.
"Triangle," starring Lee Bum Soo, JYJ's Kim Jaejoong and ZE:A's Im Si Wan, remained in third place. The drama increased by 0.1 percent to 6.4 percent. Kim Jaejoong's thuggish character finally made some money gambling although he cheated to earn it. But as with all the other "good fortune" he's encountered, all the easy money he's made, the price to pay is dangerously high. He does take Baek Jin Hee out with his earnings and its nice to see him live the life he has always aspired to. But viewers can never feel truly comfortable with his character's choices as they are always so poorly thought out.
It's not just cheating at the casino, he is playing both sides of the law, fooling both his detective brother and the man he is supposed to be spying on.
These dramas seem to have settled into their final order. What do you think of the chances this order will be upset?
