What used to be known as just Monolith Soft’s X, the upcoming Wii U JRPG title is now renamed to Xenoblade Chronicles X. Monolith Soft are claiming that the game will serve as a spiritual successor to the Wii game of the same name.

Xenoblade Chronicles grabbed a lot of attention in this year’s E3 where Nintendo released a new trailer, shared a ton of information to the gamers about the game and even showed off a 30 minute gameplay demo. Check out the first story trailer below:

Nintendo also showed off a 30 minute demo for Xenoblade Chronicles X at their Nintendo Treehouse Livestream which shows off the beginning of the game.

The game is set on a Alien world now inhabited by humans after they escaped Earth in two huge Arc Ships. Two Alien factions have chosen Earth as their battlegrounds leaving humans with no choice but to leave their own planet. During their escape one of the Arc Ships is attacked and crash lands on the aforementioned Alien planet.

Xenoblade Chronicles X’s gives players their freedom of choosing how their main character should look like. The protagonist will be user created and will allow players to choose details like their gender, shapes, height, skin, color, voice, tattoos, etc.

Xenoblade Chronicles, known in Japan as Xenoblade, is a science fiction role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Wii console. The game was announced during E3 2009 under its original title Monado: Beginning of the World. It was later renamed Xenoblade in January 2010 to honor Tetsuya Takahashi, the director of the game that had also directed all prior games in the Xeno series.
