E!'s first international reality series, "It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez," broke Philippine records in its first season. It became the number one most watched TV show in the country since January 2013, according to Deadline. At its peak, the show propelled E! to the number position in its prime time slot.

NBC Universal has already renewed the six-episode reality show for one more season, after its successful break in the Philippine television scene. The company aims to build a superstar family franchise-much like the US' "Keeping Up With The Kardashians,"-in Asia and it looks like "It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez" is off to great start. It is also doing well in Malaysia, as per Variety.

Variety reports Christine Fellowes, MD, Asia-Pacific, Universal Networks International talked about the show, saying, "The early renewal of 'It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez' demonstrates NBCUniversal's continued commitment to invest in local productions that are relevant and resonate with our audiences in the region."

The show, dubbed as Southeast Asia's "Kardashians," follows the life of the Gutierrez clan which is made up of Philippine industry legend / matinee idol, Eddie and his wife Anabelle, who's also a talent manager and aspiring politician.

They're joined by their children, former beauty queen Ruffa, TV and movie star son Richard and his host and fashionista twin brother, Raymond. Ruffa's daughters and Richard's recently revealed son also appear in the show along with the other members of the Gutirriez clan.

With the hilarious interaction and rising tension shown in the teaser below, a variety show centered around the iconic showbiz family seems a fitting Asian match for the Kardashian franchise.

The first season followed the family on a cruise vacation, capturing funny scenes and emotional confrontations.

"GUTZ" is co-presented by Lucky Me and and Perwoll, in participation with Propan, in the Philippines.

The season's final episode aired in the Philippines on July 6.
