A big announcement was made over the weekend regarding the cast of "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Disney made the announcement on Sunday that two new actors are set to join the cast of the upcoming film.

Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson reportedly made the cut after the open casting calls that were held last year, according to CBS News.

"The 'Star Wars' universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting 'Episode VII' we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film," Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement, according to E! News.

Clarke is reportedly an American actress studying in Glasgow, Scotland, who has experience both on stage and on screen. She'll be appearing in the upcoming film, "The Moon at the Sun," which is set for release next year.

Anderson is a British actor who was recently featured in a Spider-Man ad for Sony.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" will take a two-week break in August as Harrison Ford recovers from a recent leg injury sustained during the course of filming.

The 71-year-old actor broke his leg in June when a spacecraft door on the Millennium Falcon reportedly fell on Ford's leg.

"Harrison is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon," 'Star Wars' official site stated.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is directed by J.J. Abrams. The impressive cast includes Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.

The film will be released on December 18, 2015.
