Guardians Of The Galaxy Cast: Who Will Portray Gamora, Star-Lord, Drax The Destroyer, Rocket, And Groot? Meet Marvel's Newest Superheroes!

With its big screen release in the near horizon, "Guardians Of The Galaxy" fans are growing excited for the movie adaptation of the Marvel comic book.

However, the movie's superhero team will be a little bit different from what readers of the illustrated version are used to.

Director James Gunn plans on having the focus of the film adaptation on the characters' "emotional lives" citing it as "the most important thing in the film." The production will use this anchor to drama for viewers to not get lost in the "outlandish" movie with the "crazy situations and characters and settings."

The "Guardians Of The Galaxy" cast includes Chris Pratt (Parks And Recreation) as Peter Quill or Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as the green-skinned Gamora, and wrestler Dave Batista as Drax The Destroyer who has superhuman powers. Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) will play the talking racoon, Rocket, while Vin Diesel will voice the tree-like creature Groot.

"Guardians Of The Galaxy" will hit theaters on August 1.
