Lionsgate recently raised fans' expectations with Lorde's Mockingjay soundtrack announcement for the third 'Hunger Games' movie. The 'Royals' hitmaker will be the sole curator for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part1' soundtrack.

The Grammy winner already experienced being a part of the franchise's track list with her own version of Tears For Fear's 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' for 'Catching Fire.' This time, however, she will be composing all the songs for the album.

Fuse TV reports that this will be Lorde's first attempt at this kind of endeavor and the young singer is “thrilled” about it.

The Lorde Mockingjay soundtrack was announced by the singer through social media, teasing his Twitter followers on Thursday in a series of tweets about the new project.

The singer-songwriter wrote, “something exciting is about to happen,” before announcing her huge role in the 'Hunger Games' installment. She also credited producer Joel Little as collaborator for the movie's new lead single, “so be ready.”

“Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde expressed her excitement for the daunting task in a statement. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience.”

Despite her nervousness about the big project, Lorde did not hide her eagerness for the challenge, promising fans that the album will definitely “surprise people.”

After speaking with Lorde, 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' director, Francis Lawrence, was “immediately struck” by how much the New Zealand native understood Katniss, Peeta, and Gale, according to the Daily Mail.

“Her immense talent and keen understanding of Mockingjay's characters and themes not only had enabled her to create a song of her own that completely captures the film's essence,” the director added, “but her insight and passion for our project make her the perfect creative force to assemble the other songs on our soundtrack.”

The Lorde Mockingjay soundtrack album will be released in the fall by Republic Records.
