The CW's new show, 'Jane The Virgin,' seems to be a bit overlooked with blockbuster shows like 'Supernatural,' 'Arrow,' 'Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' premiering this October.

However, lead star Gina Rodriguez has been garnering praises left and right for her titular role in the new show.

Adapted from a Venezuelan telenovela, 'Jane The Virgin' stars Rodriguez as the religious and hardworking Jane who tries to keep her virginity intact until her wedding day. Things get complicated however, when a very confused doctor accidentally inseminates her with her first kiss' sperm sample.

Just Jared has seen the show's pilot episode and declared it as "hands down one of our favorite of the fall season!" The Hollywood Reporter also listed the lead protagonist as the next big thing!

Gina Rodriguez, via an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, insisted that she only takes on roles that would serve as inspiration for Latina girls. She took that stand early on in life after watching Rita Moreno refuse roles that make her feel uncomfortable.

" The idea of being a sacrificial lamb, or being a complicated actor really wasn't the truth; it was more for standing for what you believe in," she explained. "I didn't see color as a young girl; I used to think that we didn't even exist... and then to see Rita do it, I just realized we needed to make a stronger impact. That set off my course. "

Reading the script for 'Jane The Virgin' was a "breath of fresh air" according to the 'Filly Brown' actress because it felt like home for her, representing the sense of dual identity that she grew up with. She finally found a script that didn't portray the stereotypical Latino role.

"I felt very limited by the opportunities I had in Hollywood to play the maid, the pregnant teen, the drug addict," she expounded. "Those all exist, but they all exist in every ethnicity and culture. I wanted to tell stories that showed little girls because when I was younger, I didn't see us in 'Casablanca' and these phenomenal movies that told the human story."

The NYU Tisch School for the Arts graduate thinks 'Jane The Virgin' would be a very encouraging show for herself and for younger Latinas.

"Now little girls are going to look up and be like, 'There we are in different stories, as the heroes, as the people that win.' Every ethnicity deserves to own that story, because it's a human story," she said, adding that if Rita Moreno helped her love her beauty and color then "hopefully I can do that for someone else."

'Jane The Virgin' will debut on the CW on October 13. In the meantime, watch the show's trailer below.
