Liam Neeson further delves into his action-hero role, this time by spearheading the cast of the dark but beautiful action-thriller "A Walk Among the Tombstones" movie.

Miami New Times have only praises for the movie, saying that it effectively maximized Liam's image and acting potentials. The report commended writer-director Scott Frank's efforts in crafting a splendid suspense flick that brought out the actor's mature-brooding-tough guy potentials to the core.

Screenrant reported that in the "A Walk Among the Tombstones" movie, a big screen adaptation of Lawrence Block's novel, the "Taken 3" actor portrayed the role of Mark Scudder.

Deadline revealed, per Screenrant, that the actor took on a multi-dimensional character - a former NYPD police officer and unlicensed private investigator who recently overcame his alcohol addiction. He uncovered a grim secret while in the process of completing a mission to find the abducted wife of a drug dealer. He then learned that the abductors were pros whose kidnapping jobs led to vicious killings.

According to Miami New Times, the dark dimensions defining Liam's character in the flick had a lot to do with his hefty emotional burdens. In most parts of the film, the audience could see him calmly going about his investigation, spending time contemplating things. But even in sleuth mode, his presence hogged the screen, and the languishing only works to further develop the explosive climax.

The site noted that unlike "Taken 3" whose violence excites viewers, the brutality presented in "A Walk Among the Tombstones" is of the dreaded darker nature.

Screenrant shared that before Liam took on the role of Scudder in "A Walk Among the Tombstones" movie, Harrison Ford was first tapped to do the role under the direction of Joe Carnahan.

However, the "Indiana Jones" actor balked because he found the character too dark. Liam, however, was unfazed with taking the character.
