In response to reports that actor Jung Joon Ho is ending his 18-month hiatus from television acting by joining the cast of upcoming SBS drama 'Faith', the broadcasting company issued a statement strongly denying the news.
A senior official with the drama department of SBS said on Tuesday morning that "it has been decided that Jung Joon Ho will not be joining 'Faith'", contrary to previous reports that the actor had been cast as the role of ancient Goryeo power player Ki Chul.
'Faith' quickly made headlines around the entertainment world as the comeback stage for top actress Kim Hee Sun, who had been away from television acting for 6 years. Additionally the drama drew interest as the latest project of the famous producer-writer pair Kim Jong Hak and Song Ji Na.
In addition, the fantasy historical drama features a star-studded cast of Lee Min Ho, Lee Philip and Sung Hoon, and is set to begin airing after the conclusion of 'The Chaser' on August 13th.
