The newly released "Insidious: Chapter 3" movie trailer works the imagination of the viewers to deliver palpable jump scares. This time, the plot travels back to the beginning of the haunting, and viewers can join the ride when the movie opens on May 2015.

If there is something about the "Insidious: Chapter 3" movie trailer that makes it stand out in a creepy way, it has to be the jump scares.  Cinema Blend explained that unlike the other type of scare tactic that uses direct visual approach, this one works the viewers' mind. It makes clever use of images and sounds to inspire fear that could literally make them jump out of their seats in surprise.

And in watching the "Insidious: Chapter 3" movie trailer, fans can see how well writer and first-time director Leigh Wannell has used this tactic. He displayed this effectively in the scene that involved the young female lead, as she was texting her next-door neighbor who has a crush on her.

What viewers might see as a sweet exchange of messages that started with their knocking on the wall, suddenly spiraled into darkness when she found out that he was not home. Thus, it implied that whoever it was she has been exchanging knocks with was anyone - or anything - but him.

Refusing to entertain creepy thoughts, she decides to call it a day and turns in - and that was when the hand came from above and grabbed her shoulder...From then onwards, chosen clips depicting other scenes that hinted more strongly at the impending horror, flashed on the screen. The Lambert family is no longer present, but the seer Elise Rainier and her assistants are back.

Huffington Post has provided an explanation for the character's return in the synopsis it shared. It says that the story traces the roots of the haunting, going back to the time before the horrors that involved the Lambert family took place. In a bid to help the teenage girl by confronting the diabolic force targeting her, Rainier has to use her clairvoyant skills to get to the heart of the mystery.

Taking over the directorial helm that James Wan left, Whanell has created the third chapter as a prequel, not a sequel, added Huffington Post. With this, fans can expect a different haunting with a new but equally ominous spirit awaiting Rainier and her colleagues in the dark.
