Samsung Gear S vs. Apple Watch: With the Samsung Gear S release date set this weekend and the Apple Watch release date slated in spring, the competition between these two tech giants officially continues! But this time, the battle is centered on which firm introduces the best smartwatch.

When a product comes from Apple, everyone expects it to look majestic. The Apple Watch appears to be just that. But the digital crown on the side somehow reminds users of a regular watch. It works, though, as a scroll wheel that enables users to zoom in and out of the interface.

In an interview with Business Week, Gadi Amit of NewDealDesign, the firm behind Fitbit and Google's modular Ara phone, said, "I can pretty much say this is the day Apple lost its distinct edge in design."

Apple Watch comes in two case sizes: 38mm and 42mm. It is made from "custom alloys of stainless steel and aluminum - each in two finishes - as well as unique formulations of 18-karat yellow and rose gold. This is not only to make the wearable device look great but to also make it durable.

Samsung Gear S vs. Apple Watch: How ready is Samsung with Apple Watch?

The Gear S's strap has the same width as the face of the watch. Being larger than a typical watch, it may feel uncomfortable to wear - but not when you think about its two-inch curved AMOLED display. It radiates beauty that you feel proud wearing it.

It has chic, curved design that fits comfortably around the contours of the wrist, while its customizable screen options and changeable straps empower users to express their own taste and style.

Samsung Gear S vs. Apple Watch: Certainly, the decision on which smartwatch is better does not lie on the design alone - but on the kind of experience it offers users. But since both are not yet out in the market, we'll have to wait until we hear from early adopters.
