Sony Xperia Z2 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5: These two flagship phones are, no doubt, among the most advanced ever introduced to the market. With both units boasting of their specs and features, which one do you think is a smart buy?

Both have full HD display resolutions (1080 x 1920 pixels) but they differ in pixel density - 424 ppi for Z2 and 432 ppi for S5. It is for this reason that Galaxy S5's screen has more accurate colors and can be easily seen in sunlight.

Galaxy S5 is also more compact with its 5.59 x 2.85 x 0.32 inches dimensions, as against Z2's 5.78 x 2.89 x 0.32 inches. It also comes lighter at 145g (Z2 is 163g) that it is easier to hold with one hand.

There's not that much of a difference in their system chips - Z2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AB and Galaxy S5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC. The Samsung handset is faster however as it comes with higher CPU clock speed, 2.5GHz vs. Sony unit's 2.3GHz. S5 also has built-in storage of 32GB, while it's only 16GB for Z2.

Xperia Z2 is better in terms of rear camera resolutions - with 20.7 megapixels. S5 only has 16MP. It also makes users' phone protected from liquid damage with its two IP certifications - IP55 and IP58. Galaxy S5 only has IP67 (but this also indicates that S5 has better dust protection).  

Sony Xperia Z2 has bigger screen at 5.2 inches, but it's not much of a difference with S5's 5.1 inches. This member of Xperia series is packed with 3200mAh battery as opposed to S5's 2800mAh.
