Samsung Galaxy S5 Vs. Moto X:  Samsung and Motorola are two proven smartphone brands in the market today. However, almost anyone would agree that Samsung is the more popular brand and is more preferred by users all over the world. But that  does not mean that Motorola is a pushover and not a quality brand, as its flagship Moto X is said to be on par with Samsung's Galaxy S5.

Following the release of the Galaxy S5, it didn't take Motorola long to retaliate with the Moto X. As such, a comparison between these two devices will determine which the better is and smarter purchase of the two is.

In terms of display, the S5 features a 5.1inch Super AMOLED touch screen that offers 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. This is slightly better than the 4.7inch AMOLED screen with resolution of 720 x 1280 on the Moto X.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S5 is powered with a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB RAM, 16/32GB internal memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 128GB. This is obviously faster when compared to the Moto X's 1.7GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon chipset with 2GB RAM and 16/32GB internal memory which isn't expandable.

When cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has whopping 16MP rear camera which is 6MP more than the Moto X. The front shooter stands on equal footing at 2MP.

Battery size on the Galaxy S5 is bigger at 2800mAh but considering the larger screen, the battery life might just be equal. The Moto X has a 2200mAh battery.

While the differences are obvious, the pricing is somewhat justified for the Moto X. Motorola is selling the 16GB variant for $479.95. The 16GB 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S5 on the other hand is being sold at $769.95.

With both devices stripped naked, consumers can now decide if the "$300" price difference between the two is worth paying or not.
