Rumors have it that Android L release date has no official confirmation yet from Google but over-the-air (OTA) update should happen this week for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 owners.

The Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet, Google's newest devices, already come with Android 5.0 Lollipop. But because of bugs, users of previous Nexus phones may have to wait until Nov. 12. To save them from disappointment, however, they should not look forward to this date as there's also a rumor that the Android L release date and the OTA update may only be possible "in the coming weeks".

HTC users, with its manufacturer excited to share the new features of the Lollipop with them and fully committed to making the necessary updates to its flagship HTC One Family, received the good news in Nov. 3 that HTC has the Android Lollipop code already. HTC One M7 and M8 can expect the Android L update to happen in 90 days.

As for Samsung users, there's no news yet about the exact time it is coming in its devices. Sam Mobile, however, showed an exclusive preview of the OS running on Galaxy S5. It also reported that Samsung had started to test the Android 5.0 in its Samsung Galaxy S4 and it is doing very well. When it made the test on the build on its own S4 device, it found out that "there are bugs everywhere and build is nowhere near daily driver material" but this is somehow expected as the tech giant is yet on its initial test.

A piece of advice: In case the Android L release date, as well as the OTA update, comes, should you immediately install it to your phone? Yes, you're 'famous' should you be among the first ones - if not really the first one - to have Android 5.0 inside your smartphone but think about sparing yourself from trouble first. It will be best to learn how to get started with Android Lollipop. Make an initial research to prevent yourself from frustration - in case something happens after updating your OS.
