Grand Prime is a bit bigger than Moto G (2014) - 5.70 x 2.84 x 0.34 inches vs. 5.57 x 2.78 x 0.43 inches. If s5 offers protection for water and dust, this Galaxy phone has none, which gives the Motorola handset an edge because it is splash resistant.

In terms of screen size, both units sport 5.0-inch screen. They just differ in resolutions - Moto G has higher display resolutions (720 x 1280 pixels with 294ppi) than Grand Prime (540 x 960 pixels with 220ppi). The second-generation Moto G also boasts of its scratch-resistant glass (Corning Gorilla Glass 3).

Moto G has bigger built-in storage with 16GB, as opposed to Grand Prime's 8GB. System memory is the same at 1024 MB RAM.
