'Zoolander 2' Cast: Penelope Cruz Joins Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, And Will Ferrell! Will Jennifer Aniston Make A Cameo? Source Says, ‘She Wants To be In It’
"Zoolander 2" is really happening and the latest reports reveal another superstar joining the film. We reported last time that Penelope Cruz has confirmed joining the sequel. According to Deadline, the Spanish beauty signed on to star alongside Ben Stiller in the comedy which he will also direct.
Apart from Ben Stiller, who will reprise his role of Derek Zoolander, two more big time comedians will be returning in the new film. Owen Wilson has also confirmed that he will return as famous model Hansel McDonald in the sequel.
During an interview with MTV back in 2011, the actor already gave a hint that Penelope Cruz will be joining the cast. Owen Wilson said, "Hansel, he's fallen on hard times." He added, "There's been a disfiguring injury."
That got the interviewer confused and asked what kind of disfiguring injury. The actor said, "Think 'Vanilla Sky." That's the title of Penelope Cruz's movie with Tom Cruise and no one has thought of her being part of "Zoolander 2".
Apart from the comedic duo, the villain of the first movie will be back. Will Ferrell mentioned during an interview with Joblo that he is doing a read-through. He said, "We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it."
Imagine Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, and Penelope Cruz in one film. What more can you ask for? Another Hollywood superstar would be awesome and it could either be Justin Theroux or Jennifer Aniston.
"The Leftovers" star is doing the script for "Zoolander 2" so he may do another cameo just like what he did for the first movie. His fiancé also showed interest in the sequel. A source told Radar Online, "If a second Zoolander film gets made soon, Jennifer wants to be in it." The insider added, "But if a Zoolander musical gets off the ground instead, Jen wants to make money off of it." That will be pretty interesting, right?
