What Did ‘Iron Man’ Star Gwyneth Paltrow Regret About Her Past Relationship With Brad Pitt? Says He Was ‘Too Good’ For Her

"Iron Man" star Gwyneth Paltrow's "conscious uncoupling" with Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin made headlines last year but that wasn't the only high-profile relationship (and breakup) that she's been through.

Way before Chris Martin ever came in the picture, the "Mortdecai" star was engaged to A-list actor Brad Pitt. They started dating when she was still 22 and broke up a couple of years later.

She revealed to Howard Stern during an interview last Wednesday that she and Pitt broke up because she wasn't quite ready for marriage yet at that time.

"I think I was a kid and I wasn't ready. He was too good for me," she shared. "I honestly do think, I was too young and didn't know what I was doing."

At that time, however, it was her father, film director and producer Bruce Paltrow, who felt "so devastated" about the breakup.

"My father loved him like a son," she added.

Now, 20 years later, the Oscar winner regrets only one thing about her past relationship with Angelina Jolie's husband - not making a sex tape together.

"Do you know what's so sad?" She told Stern. "Is that [our relationship] was before the days of videos on your phones so we had nothing!"

The "Iron Man" star Gwyneth Paltrow also talked about another famous ex - Ben Affleck. They dated on and off for awhile after she broke up with the "Fury" actor. At that time however, Affleck "wasn't in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend." Nevertheless, their past didn't stop her from becoming friends with his current wife, Jennifer Garner.

"Not only is she beautiful but she's so warm, she cooks, and she's so into her kids and she's great. She's hilarious," the "Shakespeare In Love" star gushed.

She continued, "I had a girls' dinner and she came over. She's my neighbor. I really like her a lot."
