While some followers are worried that Texas' teen sensation is slowly turning into Justin Bieber, some think that the nose ring and new haircut could just be part of Austin Mahone's new album release preparations.
He posted a photo of himself with a new nose ring on Instagram earlier this month, captioning it with "tried something new." This came after he showcased his new hair on the social sharing site.

He's proud of it too, posting several photos of himself with the new look. In fact, nose piercings have become a trend among young stars.
One fan managed to find out why the Texan singer decided to upgrade his looks.
The fan, with the Twitter handle @kgrelicha, directly asked the popstar about the said changes.
"I accept all ur changes and if ur happy I'm happy! but... I wanna know y u chose to do a nose piercing?" She asked Mahone.
"Just cuz J," the "Waiting For This Love" singer nonchalantly replied.
Apparently, he just "thought about getting one" when a fan sent him a photo of her own piercing. The new look also doesn't seem to have anything to do with Austin Mahone's new album prep.
He's not slacking off about the album either. He recently shared a photo of a song that his production team is working on.
